Venue

The lecture series will take place in HID (March 31-April 2) and HIC (April 3-4). The coffee breaks will be in building ID on level 04 (not 4 or E4!) in room 471 and room 459.

Food Options

You have the following food options on campus:

  • Q-West (lunch and dinner)
  • Mensa (lunch)
  • Rote Bete (vegan only)
  • Beckmanns Hof in the Botanical Garden next to the campus
  • Unicenter next to the station "Ruhr-Universität" with grocery stores and other takeaway restaurants

Off-campus you can make your way to the "Bermuda3Eck", a district filled with bars and restaurants. It is about a 5 minute walk from Bochum Hbf (main station).

Local Organizers

The Algebra Group at Ruhr University Bochum. Please contact Peter Tissen if you need support with finding and/or booking a hotel.

Funding

The spring school is funded by the Department of Mathematics and by the DFG priority program 2458 Combinatorial Synergies.

Directions and public transport

Since most tracks at Bochum main station will be temporarily closed during the time the spring school takes place, the best way to reach Bochum is via the S1 (between Solingen and Dortmund) or taking any other means to get to Herne Bf as an alternative. Once in Bochum or Herne, you may take the U35 to Hustadt/Querenburg and get off at the station Ruhr-Universität. From there, navigate over the university bridge, pass the university library on the left and follow the first path to the left until you reach the building ID at the very edge of the campus.
